Green tea is unfermented and contains very low levels of caffeine, less than 50 milligrams per cup.

This light-liquoring green tea is an inviting brew that invigorates the system. Ginger, cinnamon and cardamom are all warming to the body and have carminative properties, aiding digestion.

Heat fresh water just short of boiling (175°-185°F). Infuse one rounded teaspoon per cup for two to three minutes. Brew extra strong and blend with milk and honey for a traditional cup.

This lively chai (the Indian word for ""tea"") is named for the Northern India carpet merchants who greet their customers with this ancient sign of welcome and hospitality. Green tea is rich in polyphenols and has been shown to have healthful properties such as reducing the risk of heart disease and helping to prevent various types of cancer.
